The trust was founded and registered at the Office of the Charity Commissioner in June 2018.

Currently, we are focusing on making people familiar with the mission of Kumudini Trust.
President Dr. Athavale is spreading awareness in society and is involved in conducting lectures on skin donation in Rotary club , Colleges, Residential areas etc.
We have established a connection with burn ward specialists in Sasoon Hospital, Pune, to extend help to needy patients.
Sassoon hospital burn ward is being supplied by the trust with pediatric central IV line catheters for specialized treatment.

'Vision Maharashtra Foundation (Mumbai) and 'Sa' (Pune) organized a program in Dhayari, Pune on Wednesday November 27th, to encourage exchange of thoughts between social workers. Dr. Rohini Athavale was invited as a guest presenter for this program.
